St Martin's Church, Herne

Using my fish eye lens I have been able to capture the 'whole' church... although slightly distorted by the lens, I think this photograph is pretty cool!

Boats....

These boats can be found in Whitstable harbour...
I love the composition of this photograph...

Where Do You Want To Go.....

This signpost can be found in Covent Garden Market, London...
Where would you go?

Monday 27 October 2008

The Clock Tower

I like the angle of this photograph, taken looking up and cropped to an angle...
Interesting!

Paparazzi... Eat Your Heart Out...

While out taking some pictures locally with friends, I turned around to see them both standing on a bench armed with their cameras....
Now how could I miss this shot!

Saturday 25 October 2008

Tired.....

White Bengali Tigers are allegedly rare.... But this one isn't just rare, its tired too.... LOL
This lovely tiger lives in Colchester Zoo, Essex.

The Sound Of Music....

Last year I treated one of my friends to see the Sound of Music at the Palladium in London. How cheeky of me to manage to sneak a photograph during the performance, with Connie and the children singing their hearts out!

Movement....

I love this photograph... for its simplicity and the illusion of movement!

Tuesday 21 October 2008

Whitstable....

This boat is situated on the beach in Whitstable. With a feeling of 'distress' this blue and white boat is actual really quaint!

Monday 20 October 2008

The Bobster....

Bobcat - I love this cat!Sadly, The Bobster was taken from me aged 11 months
R.I.P Bob

With A Good Book....

I would suggest you can set up your chair, relax and enjoy the moment...
It looks like that is just what this visitor to Herne Bay did this summer. With his fold up chair, he has kicked off his shoes and is enjoying the moment....

Saturday 18 October 2008

Pelican.....

How cute is this big bird!
I took this photograph in Peru... The Pelicans were hanging out at the harbour awaiting the arrival of the fisherman... But this pesky beast looks like he may have had his fill of fish already!

Dungerness Lighthouse and Railway....

I have to confess I have a real passion for lighthouses.... That probably makes me a bit of an anorak! But there it is... I said it out loud...
I love (just for a change) this photograph, the curves of the railway line and the illusion that the lighthouse actually sits at the end of the line! I guess those of you that have ever visited Dungerness will know the lighthouse is situated across the road from the railway, but hey... isn't photography magical! Don't you just love how the eye can deceive you!

Funeral For A Friend....

I am not about to start telling some terribly sad tale of sorrow or woe... This is about this house.... It is located in Whitstable along the beach by the Oyster house.
Apparently this house features in a pop video... but I can't remember who or should I say, I can't remember if the band was called Funeral For A Friend... or whether that the name of the Song... Buggar!

Boats & Huts At Hampton...

Sometimes the outcome of a photograph can be flat and dull.... That is why sometimes I like to use my fish eye lens... This makes the image more interesting because it distorts the edges and allows you to capture more of the whole image....
These boats and huts along Hampton illustrate this perfectly.... IMO...

Tuesday 14 October 2008

Seagulls....

Seagulls intrigue me and I am always pleased to observe them from a distance.... Well except when they do their business on my new roof, screech so loud it wakes me and dive bomb you just because they've dropped their baby into a courtyard and the blooming thing can't fly yet!
That aside, they are clean looking birds with a huge wingspan. When given the opportunity to watch a baby seagull wandering along the roof of the house opposite I will choose that every time.... especially when it helps me avoid the housework!

Monday 13 October 2008

Its A Mini Adventure...

This photograph was taken at the Paddock Wood Mini show last year. I have cropped in tight on these mini's to make the photograph more interesting.
The mini's were displayed in a tent surrounded by farm machinery and covered in straw. It was an interesting concept and showcased the mini in a unique way.

Sunday 12 October 2008

Big Ben....

Just for a change, this is another of my favorite photographs, not because it is the face of Big Ben, or the fact it sits in a prime location in London and is a significant land mark...
It is the editing of the photograph that captures me.... the angles and architecture... Yep, I really do like this photograph!

Saturday 11 October 2008

Poppy....

This is one of my favorite photographs... I'm sure you will eventually begin to recognise just how much I love my own photographs.... errmmm do you think I am biased!
This poppy was an incidental shot, taken while out walking for pleasure *now that is a novelty for me!* I love the illusion of movement and the way the background is blurred... This is not edited outside of the change from colour to black and white!

Friday 10 October 2008

Who Needs Jimmy Choo.....

These boots were clearly no longer suitable for walking! I spotted these boots sitting on a tree stump in a garden near Winchelsea Beach....
I think they look pretty cool and wish I had somewhere to exhibit a pair of my cast off boots!

Thursday 9 October 2008

The Lonely Bench....

Now you will come to realise, I love benches... mostly empty benches, but I have been known to photograph someone sitting on a bench!
This photograph was taken on the cliff tops over Beltinge. There sits a lonely bench, overlooking the sea!

Wednesday 8 October 2008

Adverse Weather Conditions....

I love watching the waves crash against the breakwaters... Its like watching tropical fish swimming around their tank... Relaxing and soothing... Not sure the fish in the sea would agree tho!
These images were taken in Whitstable.

Tuesday 7 October 2008

A River Runs Through It.....

Changing this image from colour to black/white has given it a spooky feel.... maybe I should have saved it for Halloween!!!
This photograph was taken by a small church on the way to Ashford.... I love this picture... Is this becoming a bit of a theme... or do I just LOVE all of my photographs!

Monday 6 October 2008

Is This Really Fine Art!!

Or is it just a bunch of keys??? I guess the beauty of this photograph lies solely in the eye of the beholder!
For me, I love it!

Sunday 5 October 2008

Love That Cat!

This is my own lickle cat Ruby... aka - RoooooBeeeee... She is a good little cat who likes to bring me gifts even though she knows that her unconditional love for me is enough!
Roo has just turned 2 years old. She is spoilt and indulged... not just by me, but by her favorite neighbours!

Saturday 4 October 2008

Feeling Peckish.....

Is it possible not to love this photograph??
But more than that, I still struggle to believe I was lucky enough to capture this shot! There I was standing on the beach at Winchelsea a couple of summers ago and there before me was this stunning Seagull trying to pick up a crab! Not only did I have my trusty 350D in my hand, but I had my 300 lens in place... YAY.... The result, more luck than judgment, is this magical photograph!

Friday 3 October 2008

Quirky By Default....

It's no surprise to see the shapes of old vehicles, such as this lushcious Morris Minor being replicated in the more modern vehicles we purchase today.
The roundness of the roof is not dissimilar to that of the newer Nissan Micra's and Citroen C3's...
I don't actually think the shape of the Morris Minor is Quirky... but the fact I have used a 'fish eye' lens to take the photo is, in my opinion, what makes the vehicle look Quirky! =0)

Thursday 2 October 2008

Old Versus New....

I took this photograph during a brief visit to London. I'm not sure the shot is exactly what I wanted but I love the idea of old vs new....
The architecture of St Pauls Cathedral contrasting with the uber modern Millenium bridge... The bridge could be something out of a Batman movie...

Wednesday 1 October 2008

Lillie's....

I love Black and White photographs and have been left pondering the question 'Does the world look better in Black and White?'. With that in mind, I am ONLY going to post photographs that have been edited into Black and White.... I hope you love it as much as I do!I took this photograph as part of a photography course I completed nearly 2 years ago, I love this picture and I love Lillie's!
